This National Library Month, we’re celebrating a milestone that says a lot about this community.
In 2025, more than 1 million items were checked out from the Bozeman Public Library. That is more than 1,014,000 books, movies, digital downloads, and Bookmobile materials making their way into people’s hands. Each one represents a moment of curiosity, learning, or connection.
And that milestone is part of a much bigger story.
Last year, the Library welcomed more than 337,000 visitors and issued 6,009 new library cards. More people are turning to the Library as a regular part of their lives, whether to find their next read, attend a program, or simply spend time in a welcoming space.
That sense of connection shows up in our programs, too. In 2025, the Library hosted 1,734 programs with nearly 60,000 attendees. From early literacy and hands-on learning to conversations with authors and community events, these gatherings bring people together in meaningful ways.
Reaching 1 million checkouts is worth celebrating not just because of the number, but because of what it represents. A community that values access to information. A place where people come to learn and connect. A resource that belongs to everyone.
Thank you for being part of this story.
