The Bozeman Library Friends and Foundation is dedicated to elevating the Library’s impact by providing crucial financial support beyond what public funding can offer. Our goal is to ensure that our public library remains a dynamic, ever-evolving, world-class resource to everyone in our community.
Our funding comes from you – our community. This includes more than 1,100 individuals, organizations, and foundations that contribute gifts of all sizes. We also raise funds through our annual Used Book Sales and our in-library Used Book Store, made possible by generous book donations from our community.
At all levels of our organization, we are supported by dedicated volunteers whose invaluable contributions of time, talent, and wisdom are critical to our success.

The Friends and Foundation believes in fostering a love for learning at every stage of life. Donor support helps create engaging play spaces for kids, cutting-edge tools for teens, and inspiring programs for adults. From STEAM activities to creative labs and outreach through the Bookmobile, we ensure the Library’s resources are accessible, dynamic, and impactful for all in our community.
Our Library serves as a welcoming gathering place where people can come together to connect, learn, and grow alongside others. Donor contributions enable programs like SymBozium, which fosters civic engagement
through thoughtful discussions, and enrichment activities like fitness classes, concerts, and wellness programs.
The Friends and Foundation supports the Library’s commitment to offering diverse, accessible resources from expanded collections to reducing the wait times for
popular audio and e-books. Donations also fund programs like Book Club Kits, which include multiple copies of selected titles and discussion guides, fostering connection and meaningful conversations in our community.
We support projects to adapt and energize Library spaces to meet changing community needs. From cultivating outdoor areas including sculptures, a labyrinth, and
improved landscaping, to contributing over $12.5M to Library construction and renovations, our efforts ensure the Library remains a dynamic and accessible resource.
